Use this chapter to explain set the scene for the current version of the enterprise architecture document.
Is the document written to convey findings from an assessment? Is it intended to define a target enterprise architecture as part of some change initiative? Is it limited to a certain part of the business?
It follows that the background chapter will be rewritten as part of major changes, for example when progressing from assessment findings to document the implementation of a more mature enterprise architecture capability.
