The most often implemented control is the increasing and decreasing of the current logging level, since intense logging slows down the system, and is not always necessary during normal operation. Obviously, logging can’t be added after the fact, so lowering the level requires faulty behavior to be reproduceable after the logging level has been temporarily increased.
